Being grounded from the phone, not being allowed to take out the car or not being able to use your computer--all kids know those standard punishments. But sometimes parents go crazy to get their kids back under control--here are five examples of times parents went NUTS.

1) Shaved Their Head--Partially

When this kid came home with bad grades after also losing the family’s new iPad, his dad decided to give him a great new ‘do to get him to stop goofing off. At least he won’t want to take any selfies for a while.

2) Made Her Hold Up A Sign To Make Up For Twerking

After a 7th Grade girl twerked at a Middle School dance even though her mother told her not to, her mom followed up by forcing her to hold up a sign on a street corner informing everybody that she was disrespecting her parents. Ironically, she could have gotten a lot more people to see the sign if she was twerking.

3) Kidnapped To Scare Them Straight

15-year-old Shannon was drinking, smoking pot, and sleeping around, and her parents didn’t know how to get her under control. So they paid $40,000 for a team from a Behavior Modification Camp to kidnap her in the middle of the night and take her to a fenced-in facility in Jamaica for a year. If you want to get your kid to stop smoking pot, sending them to Jamaica might not be the best idea.

4) Shot A Computer Because Of A Facebook Post

After 15-year-old Hannah posted an open letter to her parents about how she wasn’t their slave and that they should get their own coffee, her dad returned fire--for real. He recorded a YouTube video of himself reading the letter and then shooting her laptop several times with a handgun. Because sometimes a “Poke” just isn’t enough.

5) Shaved His Head And Made Him Wear A Ballerina Tutu

A mom in South Carolina was concerned about some anti-gay slurs her son was using, so she did the most logical thing and...partially shaved his head, made him wear a ballerina tutu and took him to Wal-Mart. She also wrote “Bad” on the part of his head that she had shaved. Because of the incident, police and social services were called in to investigate, but neither plans to make the mom wear a tutu as a result. They just might take her kid away.
